I have a brand new Xs Max and have noticed that when answering incoming calls, the caller does not hear my voice for the first 0 to 1 seconds of the call.
I have confirmed that the phone does actually accept the call on the display and the call timer starts, but my voice is not heard.
This results in me answering and saying "Hello", them not hearing anything, and an awkward exchange of "can you hear me" happens.
What I have tried:
I tested this a few days ago and was confident that the issue was not happening on her phone, but after deciding to do more testing and putting my sim card in her phone, it seems to also be happening on the 8 plus, even with her sim card back in. I am not sure if the act of putting my sim card in her phone has caused a carrier side issue to start happening as well.
This may occur on outgoing calls as well, but since the person receiving the call answers and speaks first, I haven't managed to test it very well.
Trying to look up the issue the only thing I can find is a delay issue that was present on the Xs Max but this delay was with the screen, this isn't the same issue but I am not sure if it is related.
Has anyone experienced this issue, or could confirm if this is a problem with the phone or something else? It would be comforting to know that it is not intended or that the solution isn't to answer calls slower.
Any input would be much appreciated.

Iphone 11 Pro IOS 15.3.1 intermittent issues with callers being able to hear me. I can always hear the caller. I've reset my phone and carrier options. Tried wifi calling on and off. Happens with on speaker, off speaker, and with air pod pros.
Sound quality when calling gradually deteriorates I'm having a sound quality issue with my iPhone XS, running iOS 15.5 (it's up to date). What happens is when I'm talking with somebody on the phone (just voice, not facetime), the sound quality gradually deteriorates. Essentially, I can't hear the person I'm talking to well enough after some time (the call starts fine) -- the sound is breaking up, the quality goes down, I only hear some words, etc. The person in the other side hears me just fine. If I hang up and place the call again, the problem disappears for a few minutes, and then the quality of sound goes down again. It doesn't seem to depend on the carrier, mine or the person's I'm calling. What can I do to get this fixed? Already tried restarting and updating the phone, turning the speaker on and off. None of that fixed the issue. Thanks,
iPhone 11 has issues with audio during video calls When I am using iPhone 11 for video calls, my voice goes mute during the call on the other end infrequently. I can hear them properly, but people on the other end can’t hear me. This happens off and on through out the call infrequently. I have contacted Apple support a zillion times, got 3 new iPhone 11 exchanged but in vain. However, my iPhone 10 and my iPad works just fine without any issue. So this definitely can’t be my network issue. Also, I have tried contacting different people to check if the issue could be at the receiver end. But the issue stays the same with everybody. I have tried making the video calls using my wifi, my data plan, others wifi but the issue stays the same. I have tried to restore my phone manually, did factory reset, restore my phone without my iCloud account and tested without any data on my phone to check if it’s some software issue. But no fix ! I have been struggling with this since last 8 months and hv been loosing time of my warranty. I need a solution !! Can somebody please help me.
